Summary
Dieudonné Ngoulmoumako became anxious after a visit from four men in black suits. He held an assembly asking for a revolt against these men who were questioning his position. He ordered the orphanage to go on a hunger strike to stop the hunt against him. He pleaded for solidarity, stating it would be “mayhem” without him. Moses noted that “his time was up” as the government had created “the Ministry for the Struggle against Tribalism and Nepotism at All Levels” (81). He had gotten all of his positions by using his Bembé descent and had no college education or family. He had agreed to the orphanage position knowing that he could decide his own salary and was unlikely to be ejected due to no one wanting the job.
