The Power and Tenacity of the Artistic Spirit
This novel serves to prove both that art can heal and that the artistic impulse is not one that can be easily or even possibly erased from a person. Zora is an artist, but she was not always one. As a child, she struggled in school in numerous ways. One day, however, she decides to become an artist, and it is on that day that her life changes. She begins to build confidence and starts to even thrive in parts of school that were difficult for her. When she takes on Artist as an identity and establishes its importance in her life, she starts to overcome her hardships.
