Zora's Flat
Zora lives in a flat with Franjo, but he leaves early on in the book to take her mother to England. Windows are blown out by violence, and she sleeps on her mattress in the kitchen to avoid the windows. Her flat becomes an important place for her small social circle in Sarajevo because once Mirsad brings her an old-fashioned stove, people congregate there in the evenings to cook food, chat, and get warm. She has painted art on her walls, and people like being there because of that.
