Summary

The next story, "The Legendary Lawrence Cobbler" by Julian Winters starts as the first person narrator; Jevon, writes a recipe for Hot Honey Peanut Butter Cookies. He hopes his extra bit of Chili powder will help him win the Tamer Middle School Baking Competition. After a month, Jevon is in the final four, but he is nervous because he thinks winning is the only way to normalize things after Jevon admitted he might like other boys to his father.

Tonight, G 'ma is going to teach Jevon and his father the Lawrence family Peach Cobbler. Jevon thinks about a fellow baker and 7th grader Noah who is the kindest kid.
