Summary

In Chapter 10, Birch and Tilde arrive at Bittersweet and Mabel is relieved that Birch greets her warmly, however, Tilde is a bit distant. Ev decides that everyone should call Mabel "May" for the summer because it's much prettier. Tilde makes a list of all the things that need updating at the cottage. Tilde states that their youngest child, Lu, is in Switzerland at tennis camp but will arrive later in the summer. Before the Winslows leave, Mabel asks if they passed inspection and Birch simply pats her on the shoulder.
