Summary
The novel ends in Mirari’s point of view. She wakes up alone in a dark forest and reflects on her past life, her failures, and the sense of freedom from societal expectations. She continues to bleed from her wound and resigns herself to fate. A man appears, offering her comfort and sustenance. Mirari recognizes him.
Analysis
Mirari acknowledges that if anyone finds her, she will be sentenced to death. She willingly accepts death, confident in the decisions she has made. The Epilogue mirrors Chapter Two of the novel, where Roselyn wakes up in the forest after the konvoy accident and is found by Salathiel and Gaven. Though Mirari’s savior is not named, he calls her “Miss Miracle,” indicating to readers that Salathiel has returned.
