Summary
As Mirari packs her bag, she contemplates her choices. She sets off to warn Eoin of Gaven’s raid and chooses to stand against Gaven's ruthless pursuit, despite the risks involved. The next morning, Gaven, Erel, and their army arrive at Aias. He orders their arrest, or death if they choose resistance. Eoin and Mirari engage in a heated battle against Erel and Gaven. Gaven severs his partnership with Mirari, and as the battle rages on, Mirari reveals a newfound ability to wield fire. Gaven’s skill still surpasses her, and he stabs her in the shoulder. Mirari escapes into the forest, and feeling a sense of emptiness, Gaven ceases the battle, capturing Eoin and sparing the remaining civilians.
