Summary
Gaven befriends Eoin, a strong-headed blacksmith and former soldier of Althaea Main, and promotes him as his top commander. Gaven and the rebels are on their way to infiltrate a shipment of weapons in Ganmali, a key factor in helping them win the rebellion. Eoin finds Gaven’s behavior odd, but trusts in his leadership. They are ambushed at night by Fangbane’s supporting forces, weakening their numbers including one of his commanders, Soteria. The rebels were defeated before they made it to Ganmali. Eoin escapes and Gaven was captured, accused for being a traitor. The story ends where Book 1 begins.
