Summary
In Chapter 91, Drosoula narrates the moment Gerasimos tells Drosoula’s mother to find them in Cephalonia. As they prepare to sail away with their son in Gerasimos’ boat, Drosoula sees Philothei and Ibrahim standing on the cliff. They are yelling at one another when Ibrahim suddenly pushes Philothei off of the cliff.
Drosoula runs to where the body has fallen; Philothei weakly utters “Drosoulakimou” (492), and dies. Drosoula screams several curses up at Ibrahim. Now, when she thinks back to that moment, she wonders if she really did curse him to a miserable life.
Ayse narrates Chapter 92. She wants to leave with the Christians, but with no husband to protect her, she cannot. After the Christians leave, Muslims from Greece replace them.
