Summary
In Chapter 20, as Billy approaches Nick’s house, he is nervous because he is not sure how many people Nick will have with him, where he will be inside his house, or even if he will be there. Billy drives through the service entrance and is confronted by a woman working in the flower beds. She looks vaguely familiar but Billy cannot place her.
When the woman attacks Billy, he realizes that she is Marge Macintosh, Frank’s mother. After Billy has Marge under control, she refuses to answer questions, but he can tell by the look in her eyes that Nick is at home. He uses the gun to knock her unconscious and locks her outside the compound gate.
In the house, Billy finds Frank in the kitchen and hits him over the back of the head. When Billy enters the room...
