Brotherhood
It is evident from the beginning of the book that the men of the Bravo squad have an unbreakable bond of brotherhood. Although they are very different in character, the men of Bravo share one thing in common that possibly no one else could understand: their experiences in the Iraq war and more specifically, in the Al-Ansakar Canal. The effects of the bonds of brotherhood can be seen throughout the book in many ways.
The effects can most easily be seen in the sense of family, comfort and trust that exists for each member of the Bravo squad. The way that the members of Bravo depend on one another, look up to one another, are respectful and loyal to each other and look out for one another is also a sign of the brotherhood in Bravo.
