Billy Lynn
Although part of the 10-member Bravo squad featured in the book, Billy clearly stands out as the main character and the majority of the book is told through his perspective. From the first few chapters of the book, it is clear to the reader that Billy is older and wiser than his age of 19 and that he is quieter, more observant and more reserved with his thoughts and feelings than the other members of the Bravo squad. The reader also gets a clear sense in the first few chapters that Billy's life and perspective have been completely changed because of his participation in the war and this change of perspective is developed throughout the entire book.
It seems that Billy's perspective on life is not a particularly positive one due to his experiences as a soldier. His experiences in Iraq have caused him to question many things...
