Summary

Chapter 37

Madeline is spending the afternoon with Abigail, who is researching something on her computer. Ever since she lived with Bonnie, Madeline felt like they didn’t have the same sort of relationship. She was paying attention to all of her flaws, trying to imagine how Abigail must view her. Abigail tells Madeline that she’s researching an article on child slavery. Madeline is a little annoyed that Nathan and Bonnie are letting her get involved in such atrocious social issues at her young age. Abigail says she wants to do something, but Madeline never gets to hear what as Nathan arrives to pick her up. Madeline does later note if she knew what Abigail was going to do she would have tried to stop her.
