Part 4, Chapters 110, 111, 112, 113 Summary
Cross is getting settled into his new office when Burns' assistant tells him to get ready to leave for Brooklyn with Stacy Pollack. A new lead had developed regarding the Wolf. As they are walking toward the helicopter, a shot rings out and hits Pollack. Cross covers Pollack until help arrives. Remembering Sorokin's warning that the Wolf would catch up to him, Cross wonders if the shot was meant for him. Later that day in a meeting, Burns' gives the order to take the Wolf down "by any means," which is exactly what Cross wants.
Everything begins to snowball as Cross is no longer in control of the situation. The Wolf has brought the war to him. Lipton and his family are murdered. Burns's house is hit, but he and his family had already gone into hiding and were safe. The...
