Summary
On Robin's 10th birthday, he and Theo went to Currier's lab for the usual training, but when they arrived, Currier told them the lab had been shut down by the Department of Health and Human Services to enforce new “human protection guidelines” (235). Theo worried about what would happen to Robin without the training.
Shortly thereafter, the presidential election was held, but the president claimed there were voting irregularities and they would have to vote again.
Theo found Robin outside writing in his sketchbook. When Robin went inside, Theo looked at the sketchbook again and found Robin had written “Remember what she feels like! You can remember!!!” (239).
One morning, Robin told Theo he had a nightmare that there were no more birds. He asked Theo to read him one of Alyssa's favorite poems. Theo read “A Prayer for My Daughter” by Yeats.
