Summary
The short story begins with a second person narrator that is trying to explain to the reader why the Cathedral of Our Lady of Valencia still remains incomplete. There have been many attempts to finish it and expatriates in Kuwait have sent a lot of money to ensure its completion. The original Baroque structure that dates back to 1691 was rebuilt in 1890 and only one bell tower was left incomplete and still remains incomplete to this day. Work resumes on and off due to lack of funds or if a significant priest dies. While incomplete, it is still one of Kittur's most important tourist attractions.
