Chapters 29 and 30 Summary

In Chapter 29, the new Stevie Rae emerges from the crowd of creatures. Zoey tries to appeal to the old Stevie Rae but it doesn't seem to work. Zoey conjures up her affinity for the elements to baracade the creatures in the tunnel while she and Heath escape. Zoey looks and feels weak so Heath tells her to feed on his blood. Then they hear Stevie Rae calling to kill her.

In Chapter 30, Stevie Rae begs Zoey to kill her. Zoey refuses and tries to convince Stevie Rae to come back to the House of Night so they can figure it out. Stevie Rae says that she can't because while she is alive, a big part of her is dead. Stevie Rae says she doesn't know how she got this way but she confirms it is Neferet that is turning them.
