Holt

Holt is a fictional town located in Colorado. It is a rural town comprised mainly of working-class residents. Most residents are socially conservative, quick to rally around those they love, tolerant except in involuntary or sudden situations, and fiercely independent. Holt is where the Lyle family moves following their fallout in Denver. Holt has been the lifelong home of the Lewis family, the Johnson family, Berta May, and others. Most of the novel occurs in Holt, with subplots and side stories revolving around Dad as he spends his last few months at home in Holt.
