Summary
In Chapter 33, Dad has soiled his adult diaper overnight. Mary is not home in the morning, so Dad must swallow his pride and allow Lorraine to help him. Lorraine asks Berta May if she knows where Mary has gone. Berta May says she saw Mary leave in a blue dress. Lorraine then finds a note at home from her mother, saying she has gone to find Frank. Meanwhile, Mary heads into Denver. She stops at a gas station to ask for directions from an attendant named Ed. Ed is having problems at home, so Mary writes his wife a note saying Ed is a good man.
