Summary
Chapter 7
Paul D noticed Beloved shining, he sensed her arousal. Beloved didn’t pay attention to him or engage in conversation with him so he knew her desires weren’t directed toward him. Paul D had no say in Beloved leaving because it was Sethe’s house but he tried to understand her purpose for being there.
At dinner one night Paul D began to ask Beloved direct questions about her people, where she came from, where she was heading, and how she got there. Beloved said she had no family and she was looking for this house. Paul D questioned the clothes and shoes she had on when she arrived. She told him he had taken them from someone.
Sethe and Paul D spoke again about Sweet Home. Sethe told Paul D that Halle had left her. Paul D in defending Halle ended up...
