Summary

In the 33rd chapter, Alice narrates in the first-person past. Standish asked Billington what happened, but Billington would not admit what he had done. All he said was that Standish had given his land away. Billington told the governor he would have to let him go free because having a murder in the colony would be the colony’s doom. Billington was taken down to the jail.
