Summary

In 2008, Theo goes to Bess and Joni’s hotel room and wants to know if Evangeline knew she was dying when it happened. Joni tells him that they will explain everything to him at some point, but that they emotionally cannot at this time.

The girls are called back into the police station. A male officer notes how Evangeline was not as sexually experienced as the other two girls, and he asks if she was a virgin. In the taxi, Bess insists they tell the police the truth, but Joni insists that they cannot do that. The two decide to get a lawyer and wonder if they really could be as awful as people claim they are.
