Summary

It is 2008 in Chapter 14. Joni and Bess start to get bored in Tinos, and this makes Evangeline, not Bess, the outsider. Evangeline likes hanging around the house they are staying in while the other two become restless. Joni and Bess want to go island hopping, but they know Evangline does not want to leave. Bess and Joni begin to complain, and this makes Bess feel good because she had always felt intimidated by Joni.

In Chapter 15 in 2018, Bess takes a break from work to head into town to shop, and Ryan, the gas station attendant, tells her that someone has come in looking for her, but he did not tell the man where she lives.
