Summary

ROUND SIX – Cassius talked, thought, and acted with confidence. He imagined being president even though many Blacks “could hardly even vote” (167). He imagined being in a movie and knocking out Rock Marciano. Lucius, however, knew that Cassius was sometimes insecure. Even though he bragged to Rudy and boxed around Cash, “I could tell he was acting” (167). Lucius felt the “show” was for Cassius's benefit, as much as for anyone else. He drank milk with two raw eggs in the morning. Cassius was determined to do great things though he apparently worried that he would fail. He saw the old boxers at the gym who had mashed noses and “cauliflower” ears, and said he could not let that happen to him.
