Summary

ROUND FOUR – Lucius said Cassius always attracted attention, “Like a star.” He ran alongside the school bus on its way to school and shadowbox. Sometimes, Cassius, Rudy, and Lucius would lie in the backyard of the Clay house, looking at the sky. Cassius hoped to see an angel. Lucius was never certain why, but supposed he could be wanting confirmation that he was “the greatest.” Cassius spent hours at Churchill Downs, the racetrack where the Kentucky Derby was run. Cassius loved the thoroughbred horses there and would run alongside them, saying the horses were the only things faster than he. He kept that up until a horse had to swerve to avoid hitting him, dumping the jockey on the ground. Cassius was banned from the track after that but he continued to admire the horses.
