Summary

In Part 4, “Supernova (New York City),” Adina “moves into a junior one-bedroom” in New York (175). The apartment is located in a noisy neighborhood under “the elevated 7 train” (175). Adina gets to know the local vendors and bodega owners, and learns to “Trust the group” (176). She starts working as “a receptionist for Landry Business Solutions” and learns the subway system (177). She spends most of her time working and writing at home. She does not contact Dominic or Toni. She becomes familiar with her neighbors and adjusts to her boss’s idiosyncrasies.

Several years pass. One day, Adina adopts a papillon puppy form the animal shelter. She brings him home and names him Butternut. Meanwhile, she befriends a fashion student, who reminds her of Dominic.
