Summary
In Chapter 27, Felix woke up early for work. In the kitchen, he was surprised to find Eileen awake. Noticing she looked upset, he asked her what had happened. Eileen became upset and defensive. She grew particularly riled when he interrogated her about why she had not visited Alice sooner. He left for work.
That evening, Felix picked up Alice, Simon, and Eileen. They drove to his friend Danielle's house for a party. After greeting everyone, Felix invited Simon outside for a cigarette. Felix asked him about his friendship with Alice, and about what had happened with Eileen. Simon explained that they had had sex, and afterwards Eileen "said she'd prefer to stay friends" (305).
