Summary

Chapter 30. Lost Time. Ethan thinks about Lena a lot while he waits for the Book of Moons. While speaking to the Gatekeeper, Ethan has a vision of Sulla. The vision is of Sulla giving a reading to Angelus, one of the Councilmembers of the Far Keep. The man clearly does not like what the cards have to say. The Gatekeeper tells Ethan that Angelus wanted to be able to change fate, so he experimented on himself with Casters. Angelus finally found a Caster who could change him, a woman the Gatekeeper once loved. Ethan grows worried. Then, one day the crow brings the book. Ethan gives the book to the Gatekeeper, and he opens the gates.
