Chapter 12: Two of a Kind

When Travis expresses his amazement that "the most beautiful woman at Eastern is my girlfriend. That's insanity" (page 223), Abby asks why her, and he admits that he has been interested since they first met because she saw him for who he is, rather than just seeing his reputation. Travis invites her to poker night at his dad's house, assuring her that they will love her. At Jim Maddox's house, Travis introduces Abby to his dad and his four brothers, Trenton, Taylor, Tyler and Thomas. When Abby objects to playing poker, the guys offer to teach her, but she beats them all easily, laughing when they ask if she has played before.
