Unconditional Love.
The novel, Beastly, is about unconditional love. Love is an important theme in the book because it touches each and every one of the main characters in one way or another. Unconditional love is not merely about loving someone else, but it is also about loving oneself. Kyle Kingsbury must learn to love another, and be loved in return, in order to break the curse that has been put on him. However, in order to love and be loved, he must first learn how to love himself.
Kyle was never taught the value of love. He was taught the value of social standing, of aesthetics, of money, but never of love.
