Point of View

Beastly is told in the first person point of view. The story is told from the point of view of Kyle Kingsbury, a high school freshman who is turned into a beast by a witch's curse. The reader is privy to all of Kyle's thoughts, words and emotions. As the main character, Kyle is able to share his hopes, fears, successes and failures with the reader. Through Kyle's thoughts we are able to see how he became such a shallow person and the reader is able to understand his motivations for change. The reader is drawn into the story because of Kyle's easy narrative voice and his vulnerable thoughts.
