Summary
In "The Interview," January is not sure if her writing is good, but she is writing. The story is close to her real life. She thinks about her father, and thinks he must not have visited the cottage during her mother’s second round of cancer treatment. Then, she remembers the business trips he took and realizes that he had visited then.
During the next few days, January cleans out the cottage. She sees Gus moving around his house and notes that he does that a lot when writing. Finally, January and Gus set up their respective writing areas facing each other. They communicate with each other by writing quotes on paper and holding them up for the other to see.
When Friday arrives, January gets ready to go on her research lesson with Gus. She changes clothes when Gus...
