Summary
In "The House," January arrives at the cottage her father bequeathed to her. It is located in North Bear Shores, Michigan. In addition to recently losing her father, January and her live-in boyfriend, Jacques, have recently broken up. January also has a looming deadline to deliver a book that she has yet to begin writing. She does not have much money. Due to the break up with Jacques, she has nowhere to live other than the cottage.
