Summary

In June (Chapter 5), Alice decides that it is time for her to take Frank out. She leaves a note for Mimi to ask if she can borrow the car keys. When Mimi comes out of her office after lunch, Frank rushes to hug her. Alice’s plan to take Frank to the playground gets dashed when both Frank and Mimi tell her why that is a bad idea. Then she says that they can just go for a drive. After convincing Mimi that she will not get lost, learning that there was someone called Xander that used to be around, and convincing Mimi that she has not read her book, Mimi agrees that she can take Frank out. She writes down emergency phone numbers and gives Alice her phone in case she needs to call someone. As they leave she thanks...
