Summary
In Chapter 12, Janey accompanied Cleveland on a series of late night raids on farms, stealing hens wherever Cleveland found that conditions were not up to her standards. Janey began to feel happy for the first time since her mother's death.
In Chapter 13, Janey's father noticed the change in her demeanor and asked her why she was so happy. She was reluctant to tell him about what she was doing with Cleveland and he assumed she was dating someone.
In Chapter 14, the women continued stealing hens and leaving them at the animal rights organization, until one night they arrived and the exterior was boarded up with a note stating that it had relocated. Cleveland found out that the person that had been emailing her from the organization, a man named Dill, lived on a farm nearby. They began taking the hens to his house...
