Chapter 2 Summary

The man greets Eva by name, which she realizes he knows because he picked up her I.D. the previous day. He asks how her first day was and wonders how he knows this. She says good and asks about his day. The elevator makes another stop to pick up three more passengers. When they get to the lobby, the man steers Eva out with his hand on the small of her back. Eva meets Cary there while the man goes out to the Bentley SUV.

Eva has a small hangover the next morning, but when Mark arrives he asks her to work late. He says a vodka company asked for a request for proposal from him by name. Eva asks if this is unusual and he agrees that it is. They work through lunch and almost through dinner until Marks' partner, Steven...
