Chapter 12, A Boy and a Ghost Summary
As the first gusts of wind hit him, Rudi climbs back into the narrow cleft and finds shelter as he descends. As he crosses the shear rock wall, the wind blows him towards the mountain - making his return quicker. Unfortunately, that is the end of his luck. The winds strike him full force as he walks the ledge below the Fortress. Snow makes the visibility almost nothing. He staggers forward and crawls, but he cannot find the narrow ridge that leads downwards. The wind rises to a wail, and then a rumble hits his ears. Rudi frantically looks for any shelter as the gusts are nearly horizontal now. There is thunder and lightening. He finds a very shallow cave and crawls inside. The storm howls, and he waits.
