Chapter 29 and Epilogue Summary

Mike reaches out to Kyra with his mind, but the connection seems broken. He finds a single strand of white hair and remembers the clarity of the tape John played. Rogette Whitmore hadn't left the TR. He heads for Warrington's, finding Kyra's hair ribbons along the way. Trees are falling and through the noise of the storm, Mike hears their voices. Kyra tells her to go away, insisting she doesn't want her. He sees Kyra on Warrington's dock which bounces dangerously in the water. Kyra is halfway out and for every step forward Rogette makes, Kyra backs up. When she sees Mike, her face gives him away and he loses the element of surprise. With a dozen feet separating them, Mattie's form appears. In the struggle that ensues, Rogette is impaled by a piece of the dock, and finally...
