Chapters 21 and 22 Summary

Mike has an episode of spiritual time travel in which he and Kyra attend the Fryeburg County Fair as it took place around the year 1900. He begins alone, walking through the fair in amazement, slowly recognizing that the band performing is the Red Tops, wearing bib overalls. Kyra tackles him happily from behind, telling him that Mattie couldn't come. She knows that the woman singing is Kito's mom, Sara, and when they get up closer, Kyra is surprised to see that Sara is wearing the exact same dress as Mattie has. Kyra wants to know why. Suddenly, Kyra is afraid and wants to go home and Mike tells her it is all a dream and if she keeps her head down, she'll wake up in her own bed in the morning. Jared Devore confronts them with a group of his followers...
