Summary
Debby began to take a typing and secretarial course in order to aid her job search. Jobless, her routine included going to her class and lounging about the house. With her mother trying hard to help her open up, she had a difficult time finding a job that could suit her. Going from one job interview to another, mother and daughter took breaks by going to the bakery and purchasing elephant ears. Finally, she found herself in an interview as a typist for a lawyer, who commented on her closed nature and asked if she ever opened up. The following day, Debby was called and hired for the job.
