Chapters 37-39 Summary
Myron calls Francine Rennart. She's heard about Jack Coldren's murder. Myron tells her about the postcard that Lloyd sent to the Coldrens from Peru. He wants Francine to help him find the person who paid off Lloyd. Francine has a few boxes of Lloyd's personal things in the basement, and she gives Myron permission to go through them.
While Myron is back at Win's guesthouse, Carl comes to see him with a young black woman named Kiana, a maid at Court Manor Inn. She saw Jack at the Court Manor Inn twice the previous week, with a male companion. She describes the other man as older, white, with dark hair and a beard. Jack recognizes the description as Norm Zuckerman.
Esperanza returns with an old newspaper article about the accident that killed Lloyd's first wife. Lloyd had been drinking. The article...
