Chapters 19-21 Summary
Myron returns to the mall food court to find the same group of airheaded teenage girls at the same table. He can tell which girl tipped off Crusty by the look on her face almost immediately. Myron doesn't remember her name, but it begins with M. He pretends to be an undercover cop and says he has one loose end, Crusty's accomplice. He says if the accomplice doesn't come forward, she could be charged with attempted murder. Then, Myron waits by the restroom. When the girl, Mindy, gets up, Myron remembers her name. She doesn't head toward him, though. She goes to the exit.
Mindy refuses to talk with Myron, and Esperanza follows her to a payphone. Myron's receptionist, Big Cyndi, traces the number: the Parker Inn bar. Myron finds out that Crusty's real name is Tito, Tit to his friends...
