Chapter 16-18 Summary
Myron can't find any information about the pickup's license number, since it's got expired plates, probably stolen. He finds nothing at the abandoned building where he was attacked. Myron wonders if the Nazis ran into Chad at the motel and kidnapped him on their own, but he suspects that there's something more going on. At Merion, Jack is playing the fourteenth hole against Tad Crispin, and Myron runs into Norm and Esme. Norm has bought advertising on a golf bag. Now the caddie has a towel draped over the bag. Myron is not a golfer, and yet Norm points out, he seems to be wooing all the high-name clients, like Tad, Jack, and Linda. Myron ducks Norm's probing. Then, Norm notes how good-looking Esme is, wondering if she's only half Asian. Myron excuses himself.
