Mixtli returns to Tenochtítlan, to his newly-built home and his wife. Ahúitzotl receives Mixtli and is presented with another quartz crystal. Mixtli tells the ruler about the opportunity to garrison Xoconócho on the southern coast. A small garrison can protect the area and make it part of the Empire. Mixtli admires his beautiful new house, including two floors and a rooftop garden. The slaves are taught good manners at a school run by Cozcatl. Mixtli is inducted into the order of the Eagle Knights, while the ruler's nephew, Motecuzóma is sent to establish the new garrison at Xoconócho.
