Part VI, Section 2, P. 408 to P. 461 Summary
Mixtli reports to the ruler Ahuítzotl and presents him with the crystal that can start fires and is a magnifying glass. To celebrate his success, Mixtli and the merchants plan a party in two days with the best food and entertainment. At the party, Mixtli's old friend, the old cacao-colored man shows up and reveals what happened to Mixtli's sister Tzitzilíni. She survived hideous torture and was left a human freak. Tzitzi gave Mixtli the money he received. Mixtli wants to kill the old man but is told that it is the Reverend Speaker of Texcóco in disguise. Mixtli wanders to a partially ruined pyramid that is built in honor of Quetzalcóatl the Feathered Serpent. Mixtli travels further, going south along the Eastern Sea along the fringe of marshes...
