Urquhart Woods

Better known as “the Cover,” this is the area near the loch. The woods are confusing to those unfamiliar with the area. At one point, Maddie becomes lost and sees an old woman washing a shirt. The woman disappears before Maddie can ask her for directions and she later learns it was a supernatural sighting.

The Loch

This is a large lake near the Fraser Inn and the Big House. The loch is the home of the famous monster and even during the 1940s there were many people who wanted to a chance to prove the beast existed. The loch is very deep and the water is so dark that it's impossible to see very far. This is where Mairi drowns herself and where Ellis almost manages to drown Maddie.
