Summary

In Chapter 32, Maddie reads the paper while she keeps an eye on Meg. Dr. McLean arrives in the afternoon and says Meg is out of danger from the concussion but still needs to be watched closely, especially for signs of congestion. They begin giving her liquids and she sleeps deeply under the influence of morphine. At one point, Maddie drops off to sleep and is afraid that Meg isn't breathing. She rushes to Angus for help and he assures her Meg is just sleeping deeply. He helps her back to her room and Maddie feels incredibly drawn to him.

In Chapter 33, Anna's mother arrives. Everyone calls her Mhathair. She begins making teas meant for specific steps in Meg's recovery. Rhona is also back, helping with the cooking.
