Chapters 25-27 Summary
In chapter 25, Miss Marple returns to London to help Father. Father tells her about a trip to Ireland in which he learned the nature of Gorman's relationship with Lady Sedgwick. At Bertram's, Father takes Miss Marple to the room she had while staying at Bertram's and then goes down to bring Pennyfather upstairs. Father has Miss Marple and Pennyfather reenact the night Miss Marple saw Pennyfather leave. When it is over, Miss Marple realizes that it was not Pennyfather she saw that night, but someone younger. At about that same time, Pennyfather's memory came back and he told them how he came into his room that night and saw someone who looked exactly like him. In chapter 26, Father sends Pennyfather to the British Museum and takes Miss Marple with him to speak to Lady Sedgwick. Father confronts Lady Sedgwick with everything...
