Summary
Ezra finished his book and had several medical procedures that he had been putting off. Alice was out on a walk with Ezra and his nurse Gabriela one day, and Gabriela asked her if she would ever like to have children. Alice, now 27 years old, told her that she wanted to “wait until the last possible moment” (68). Ezra ordered hot dogs from a halal cart on the street. He talked about the book he had just finished with Alice, and when Alice offered him some critiques, he told her he knew she was doing some writing of her own. Alice admitted that she was.
