Summary
In Chapter 18 Anne Stanhope visits Kate and Peter’s house for lunch. Before she arrives, Peter and Kate get nervous and consider sending the kids away. But they cannot find a babysitter. In the end, they invite George over. George also feels nervous, but eventually agrees to come over. Peter skirts the issue of why he is on restricted duty saying it was a mistake that is being worked out. Kate and Peter drink a few shots together to cool their nerves. When Anne arrives, Kate lets Peter meet Peter alone.
